2p!Italy Headcanons (3)

• He is a big nationalist, meaning that he almost only likes things if they come from Italy. This includes things like food and wine, but also movies, music and books.

• The time he spent living with Austria and Hungary was the worst time-period in his life. He hated it every day, when he was there.

• On his back, neck and upper arms he have a lot of old scars and bruises. These are results of the punishment he received when he was a kid, when he didn’t do what Austria told him to do. The marks come from Austria’s whip or cane.

• Since he was raised by Austria, he can almost speak fluent German.

• He is that type who, when driving with others, will complain about them driving ‘too slow’.

• He is not a virgin and he has been with a lot of random Italian women over the years. He has never loved any of them though, and most of the times it has only been one-night stands.

• Beside Italian and German, he is also fluent in English and can speak a bit of both French and Spanish, even though he doesn’t like to admit it.

• He enjoys to read and often does it when he needs to relax. He prefers this over things like for example watching a movie – However he has nothing against modern technology.

• He has read all the books he has been able to find about his grandpa’s empire.

• He has an extraordinary ability to ‘read’ people and by that discover if they are lying. The only person he has ever had problems seeing through though is his own brother.

• He has never killed a child (on purpose – not thinking about war). It’s not because he likes children or anything, but because he simply cannot see the point in doing so.

• When he reads, he always reads aloud under his breath/mouthing the words. This is not something he thinks about, so he always gets annoyed when people tells him to read inside his own head.

• He enjoy Italian operas

• He needs reading glasses. The reason is because of all the damage Italy suffered in the end of ww2. In the beginning, he was ashamed that he needed them, so he refused to wear them. However, after some years he accepted it and started wearing them at the meetings (so that he could actually read the documents). He has glasses and not contact lenses, because they are faster to take on and off.

• He hates unnecessary noise – for example children’s screaming. He can’t just ignore it like other people do, and almost always have to make a comment about it.

• Generally he has a hard time being around children and is usually very impatient with them. It never ends well.

• Most of the time he carries around a little sketchbook, in case he would suddenly get inspired by something or someone.

• Sometimes when he feels like having a one-night stand with someone, he will draw them as a way of charming them.

• However, he doesn’t let anybody knew how much he is actually into art. He doesn’t want the other countries to take him less serious, than he already knows deep down they do. A violent military man…and an artist. He is sure that that wouldn’t make sense to a lot of the other 2p countries.

• He has never killed anybody without a reason to do so. However, his ‘reasons’ is not always some that would make sense or sound good to regular people.

• He hates to rely on people and does everything he can to avoid suddenly standing in a situation like that.

• He is a fantastic cook, however most of the other nations do not dare to try and taste his food.

• He hates rain and especially being out in it. He is the type who will always silently complain when it starts to rain.

• He will use others for his own benefit if it is possible, but he will always avoid emotional connection.

• His Myers-Briggs personality type is: INTJ-T.

• When he is overly tired, he gets quite whiny, but also complains more than ever, mostly over pretty ridiculous things.

• He dislikes snow and can only see how difficult it makes everything.

• Like most of the other 2ps, he doesn’t talk about the way he once treated his own people – Back in the days, if you were noble, you could pretty much do whatever you pleased to the people who were below you.

• However, he is not exactly ashamed of it either and still owns a lot of his old torture devices.

• Even though he treats his people much better today – mostly due to the fact that he kinda has to because of his boss – he still has a hard time seeing them as more than just puzzle pieces he can play around with as he pleases.

• He has refused to let anybody clean and/or fix his old ww2 uniform. The ruined fabric and the blood on it has for him become a symbol of the great fall, his country suffered back then.

• He still think that his biggest mistake back then was to team up with Germany and Japan. However, he doesn’t know what to answer if people then asks him, how he think he would have ever gotten anywhere without them.

• He normally doesn’t really care for sport matches, however he is always head over heels for big things such as the World Cup. Moreover, if Italy loses, something will be thrown against the wall.

• The first thing he does very morning is to make a cup of coffee for himself. He is pretty much a walking corpse before getting it.


Christmas Headcanons:


• He do enjoy Christmas, but is kinda low-key about it. The only thing that really bothers him about the holiday, is the way it has become more and more “Americanized” over the years.

• Almost every year he procrastinate decorating his house way too long, because he doesn’t feel like he has time to do so. If it wasn’t for Flavio, he sometimes probably wouldn’t even get it done.

• He once got a CD from Flavio with Italian Christmas songs, and even though he said that he didn’t like it, it plays quietly in the background every time he and his brothers celebrate Christmas at his place.

• He is the type of person who has already bought all of his Christmas gifts by the end of November - Even though it’s not so hard, since he mostly only gives to his brothers.

• He finds most Christmas themed movies to be totally unwatchable.
